The Leek

There are many explanations of how the leek came to be adopted as the national emblem of Wales. One is that St David advised the Welsh, on the eve of battle with the Saxons (Today Robber Barons aka Windmill Masters) , to wear leeks in their caps to distinguish friend from the enemy.

juamei. 1506 posts. Re: Mynydd y Betws. Jan 29, 2012, 18:34. The Heritage Journal today ran a long piece written by one of the co-finders of the stone row:

See the Windmill farm plantation Barbed Wire fences on Mynydd y Betws in above link, there are 'Miles of them'. One action I am planning is to make as many 'Ysbryd Cofiwn Remembrances Crossess' as possible, the idea being is that the 'Black Crosses' are to be placed on these fences - hopefully 100's of them all around the Plantation site - continuously as they will be pulled down no doubt. However, if you stick some up then photograph your action and post to the web. The Red and Yellow Crossess (yet to have wording done) are for placing on fences, tacking to posts and hanging on trees and hedges on all roads leading into the mountains. This is called AGIT - PROP! Production details below:

Black Crossess 12'' - 10''. Yellow Crossess are slightly larger. Made from thick Cardboard Boxes cut up to suit, back is painted black on all crosses and the words on front in Red and Green. Have tried useing water based and fast dry enamel paint, do not find either really satisfatory but I have seen some tubes of an Artist Paint in Works Shops, will try them next. Next step is to varnish both sides against the weather for this they will have to be hung up to dry, make hole at top for this, as this is where plastic ties will be used for tieing to fences. This is time consuming but then Campaigns need this sort of action and without such struggles never come into being, thus Patriots get to it, need this done asap as I do not know when I will next have time to get up on Mynydd y Betws. Note this is our own heritage action, I find it unbelieveable that we are leaving to  an English Based Journal alone to be to the fore in this battle for Betws Mountain but lets be thankful they are and back them up asap ok.
