This is Gethin's blog really, I hijacked it to place this post on as I felt it was relevant to the last post I posted and the earlier posts that Gethin had previously put on. And now, due to the fact that I have recieved yet another message, this one 'annoyed', amongst other things, that I had referred to Geoffrey Sinclair in my last post as a 'guest resident' in Cymru, I now feel that followers should see this new letter along with my reply to it so, first of all, see letter I recieved below. I have removed the name of the sender to protect their privacy:
.
Dear Sian,
you say "Mr Sinclair, other than he is a 'quest resident" in our
nation and that as an employee of the CPRW..."
Well, so am I "guest resident", my family left Wales as he was a soldier in
the army of Charles I and was sent to Ireland - but I chose to come and live and
work in Wales and make it my home - and I care about it, I would not have put my
heart and soul and money that I can ill-afford into this campaign for more than
ten years if I didn't. And I can tell you that one of the hardest things has
been to get our local welsh residents round here to get the idea that it is WORTH fighting - so many have said "why bother, they will get their permission
anyway" - I have often wondered where is the Hwyl of Owain Glyndwr? Is it your
intention to ignore the work and knowledge of wind turbine fighters if they are
not Welsh born?
.
I am very suprised that you do not know who Geoff Sinclair is! For the
accuracy of your information, Geoff is not an employee of CPRW - he and his wife
for years have been active for years in the Pembroke branch of CPRW as members,
and his interest in the scourge of wind turbines increased, and for a few years
he was given a small fee and expenses by the CPRW to help branches fight wind
turbine applications. Then CPRW cut that small funding, and also cut any
practical help for branches fighting wind turbine applications - in other words
the CPRW lay down and played dead, even to the extent of marginalising anyone
who stood out against the turbines.
.Geoff now works as a free-lance consultant, can be hired by action groups
fighting applications and works all over the UK , or representing them at
Inquiries - he is very well known across the anti-wind turbine world. Did you go
and watch him at the Mynydd y Gwair Inquiry? Pity if you didn't. He has heaps of
practical knowledge and a good track record of success. And he works on keeping
his charges as low as possible for groups in Wales. I am sorry that he has come
in for your ire, but I suspect, like me, that he has seen only your e-mail to
Ioan, and not the back history that you told me about. He has often been the
target of Ioan's brand of insult as well.
.
As to the "spleen", I took it that he was referring to the wording of your
e-mail only.
.
Don't you think it would be better and more productive to direct your
undoubted talents and energy to the issue raising activities you are involved
in? As to Plaid candidates, until Plaid officially adopts an anti-industrial
scale wind tubine policy, you may find it difficult to get any Plaid candidate
to come out in public against them. We have had years of working on Rhodri Glyn
Thomas, and are working on Jonathon Edwards, but they will NOT make concrete
pubic statements.
.
My reply below:
Annwyl ??????,
.To try and answer your
points.
I do not, personally,
know Geoffrey Sinclair and no, I did not go to the Mynydd y Gwair inquiry as I
was up on a protest on the Vyrnwy estate during July 2010. I asked two other
‘long term’ anti windmill campaigners if they knew what Mr Sinclair’s role was
and they didn’t know so, I found out about his connections with the CPRW on the
internet. From what you say, it seems that he is, indeed carrying out valuable
work but, nevertheless, he is paid for his efforts. We have been active on the
ground in Cymru for 50 yrs – on all kinds of issues of threat to our nation and
have always funded everything from our own pockets and where as we can
appreciate the necessary assistance available from Mr Sinclair, we do not feel
that it gives him the right to criticise and ridicule the efforts of others such
as ourselves, indeed, we feel that his attack on us displayed a lack of
understanding of Cymric patriotism. You state that in
regards to his choice of term “the spleen”, you took it to be that he was
referring to the wording of my e-mail only. I don’t buy that and I will quote
him again as stating:
.
.
.In regards to my
referring to Mr Sinclair as a ‘guest resident’ well, that is what he is isn’t
he? He’s not Welsh born and bred, he’s a guest in our nation who has decided to
take up a residence here like, at his own admittance, he had done in many other
parts of the U.K. before moving to Cymru. The fact
that he is a ‘guest resident’ does not mean that I do not acknowledge his
expertise and appreciate his contribution to this cause or, indeed, others, such
as yourself, that are not Welsh born but who love and care for Cymru and have
campaigned very hard in her defence. But, to us, It is of the uttermost
importance that we get the indigenous Cymry to do likewise. This is their
ancestral land and the land that must be protected so that it can be passed down
to their descendants to protect. Our role is to educate and inform the Cymry as
to what is happening and to re-instate in them their sense of duty as Cymry
towards their motherland. Only when that is achieved will they understand that
this land is worth fighting for and only when they have taken on the
responsibility for fighting this war will Cymru become a confident nation again
and one that can build on that confidence to ensure that she grows in strength
and prospers in such a way that she can provide jobs and a future for today’s
young and future generations of young so that they are not forced to leave Cymru
to seek a living and a way of life elsewhere.

.Regards seeking a Plaid
Cymru candidate for the Mawr ward. Not absolutely necessary as Myron Evans will
stand, if needs call, anyway but, I strongly agree that we must get Plaid to
change their policy in regards to wind turbines
Best
wishes.

.
.Not a very bright start by Plaid Cymru towards fulfilling Lianne Wood's fighting talk of..."Together we can build a new Wales" when they are not even prepared to cooperate with constituents within wards to win seats! -and they could have won this one easily enough with Myron's assistance. Let's remind you of what he had said:
..
.
.Here now are some further updates from Myron Evans, officially now the Independent candidate for the Mawr Ward for Swansea County Council.
..
"Bankrupt
Britain is preparing to
follow in the wake of the Netherlands and Japan in
dropping subsidies for wind turbines. The U.S. and Danish
experience has shown that wind turbines are a grotesque economic disaster that
bankrupts nations. In Japan , turbine production is
scheduled to drop by 70%. In Britain there has been a
150 M.P. revolt against King Cameron the Unelected on the issue of wind
turbines. I urge a general election on this issue of wind turbines. All of this
is on google. In the U.S. there are tens of thousands of
derelict wind turbines, a blight on the landscape left there by bankrupt
companies whose subsidies have vanished. The profiteer and absentee landlord,
David the Unelected Somerset, Duke of Beaufort (my distant cousin but there the
similarity ends) is preparing to obliterate the ancient and unique landscape of
Mawr here in the face of intense outrage and bitter opposition, as plans are
unveiled for huge turbines to be hauled along the narrow roads of Pontardawe.
Nothing like this has been seen since Crawshay's hated bailiff hauled his
engine on a string all the way to Nant y Glo. The terminally apathetic majority
is being wakened very rudely by Crawshay in modern guise. There is a 95%
opposition here to wind turbines, all of it ignored by mediaeval aristocracy and
insane greed for money. As candidate for Mawr I oppose wind turbines, and
advocate a class action in court against the wind turbine developers, a class
action with hundreds of people sharing the legal costs. The injunction would
prohibit all further wind turbine development and sue for millions in damages. I
advocate such class actions against turbine developers all over Europe . Mynydd Bettws has already been savagely damaged. I
was part of an eight to one majority of objectors, and we were ignored
undemocratically no surpise. The class action would seek an injunction on the
grounds of damage to environment under Section 38 of the Commonaldn Act of 2006.
Under MA007 there are hidden plans for turbines on Gelliwastad. My initial
polling here shows an overhwelming majority against ANY further MA development
in Mawr. Such development will kill the Welsh language. I am organizing a
petition now. I have been fighting wind turbines for about fifteen years. I urge
the local Plaid Cymru canddiate for Mawr to come out against turbines and to
represent the people. Similarly for the Labour candidate. If so I will switch my
considerable support to Plaid Cymru. I have spoken with Dr. David Lloyd, A. M.
and he is fully aware of my views and of the views of the People. NO WIND
TURBINES".
.Myron Evans
Independent Candidate
for Mawr
.....
And here's a link to a petition that Myron has started in order to get signatures to object to the intended housing development projects intended for the Mawr Ward. The MA007 proposal is a proposal for development of
Gelliwastad, a Commonland (which, really, is illegal anyway. The second proposal (MA008) is a proposal to
build a dozen or more houses on property owned by Ioan Richards..
.PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION...YOU CAN SIGN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.
.
To end, I must and will say that If Plaid Cymru are prepared to throw seats away like this just because they refuse to see the truth in regards to the Windmilling of Cymru - which, without any doubt will destroy our beautiful motherland, then we certainly cannot depend on them as a party to take us out of this abyss we're in and to protect our resources in the years to come.. For that reason, we will need to be prepared and strengthen in numbers of those who care - and it will have to be a choice between being loyal to Plaid Cymru or, to Cymru our motherland. We will, no doubt, have to fight many battles between now and the next round of County and local council elections but, i suggest strongly, that if Plaid Cymru is still failing in their role as protectors of Cymru, then we must have candidates ready to fight all wards in those elections, but not Assembly or Westminster elections, as the elections of a 'Puppet Government' or a London based one should be of no concern to us here in Cymru and neither of them has the mandate of the people of Cymru to make decisions on our part.
Its up to you Plaid Cymru...shape up or ship out!
