CYMANFAOEDD/DADLEUOEDD GLYNDWR: 'TO VENT A MYTHOLGY' - 'MOUNTAIN THEATRE' as 'Sixties Style Agit - Prop Free Street Theatre' - WHAT'S THIS ABOUT AND HOW IT WORKS - SIMPLE WITH INSPIRATION AND IMAGINATION - WHEN 3:00pm - 6:00pm SUNDAY 10 JUNE 2012 and WHERE ON MYNYDD Y BETWS at the VIEWING STATION AREA or Alternativelly if Preferable and can be a Arranged in Area of the SCOTSPINE PUBLIC HOUSE. - How To Organise Such That's Another Question?

To ''Vent a Mythology'' * (Exoteric) as in days of old. Dadleuoedd were usually held at night times, obviously held at places and times to avoid spies or English patrols. See below an actual medieval account of such, which by example you shall follow, if you have the wit and the gumption to do it?.............................

                                                    DADLEUOEDD GLYNDWR.

* This Initiative is part and parcel of the Embassy Glyndwr - Theatre Glyndwr Initiative, please respect that and no 'ripping off' as Embassy Glyndwr does have much in preparation regards this Initiative and the 'To Vent a Mythology' Project. See Below the Embassy Glyndwr link from which this here was borrowed with kind permission of Sian Ifan.

It was so reported in those times…… …………….

''their harpers and crowthers singe them songes of the doeings of theire auncesters, namlie, of their wars against the kings of this realme and the English nation, and then do they ripp upp theire petigres at length howe eche of them is discended from those theire ould princes. Here alsoe doe they spende theire time in hearinge some parts of the lives of Thalaassyn, (Taliesin) Marlin Beno Prybbe (Myrddin pen beirdd). Jerue (?Iorwerth), and suche other the intended prophets and saints of that countrie''.

Fantastic stuff, do you like that? Want to see it reenacted? Then read on.

In ancient and medieval times up to the 19th century it was traditional for the Welsh to assemble in open spaces, particularly mountain tops to ''discuss and debate'' issues of great concern to themselves, their communities and nation. See Saturday's 'Soap Box Nation' Event at the Viewing Station - a modern version of the medieval 'Dadleuoedd'.

REVIVAL and RESTORATION - Lets Walk Back Into Our Past!

To carry this project out will be pretty ambitious a it requires dramatics with medieval reenactment and some form, a script. HHHhhhmmm!!! that I will have to give some serious thinking on and further research and then I could do with some creative help to put it together as a 'Medieval Presentation'. That in mind, maybe it is something a small core group of Medieval Reenactors could get stuck into and carry out? Whatever, anyone interested in this, do get in touch. Noting needs: Help with a Script, 'Actors', amatuer will do and medieval re-enactors as well also costumes and props. Whatever, thinks! ideas and suggestions very welcome - do get in touch via gethin.apgruffydd@ntlworld.com

The way I see it happening, is that the central medieval style interpretation will be based on and around the 'Dramatic Presentation' which is not too difficult to imagine how that will be presented and performed with medieval rabble rousing speeches, poetry, music and telling of tales etc in the spirit of the times. There could also be encouraged Audience Participation, so shall we give it a go, yes? if it is to take off, then I do need a response from those who feel they can contribute and if possible be involved either behind scenes or 'On Stage'. As this project is part of the Embassy Glyndwr 'Theatre Glyndwr Initiative', very much put on the 'Back Burner' because of so much other pressing projects it is now opportune to focus this development locally in the Swansea Valley are around Pontardawe, in mind being that close by is where Hopcyn ap Tomos had home and worked from

He of course has association with Owain Glyndwr and particularly the Mabinogion (see E.G link below). As setting this up and no doubt needed rehearsals a priority, it will be best to base the organisation of in the Swansea Valley Area of Pontardawe and perhaps Gwuan Cae Gurwen? But this does not mean that others from else where in Cymru/Wales cannot participate particularly if you are musicians and poets etc. Even Medieval Re-Enactors can on the day turn up from other parts of our Country and, why not all who want to enter into the spirit of it all just dress up medieval and become 'Extras' including the kids. We are not going after grants as we want get any would we, it's too political and anyway, call me sentimental and nostalgic for my past, the 'Sixties'.

Sure I would like it to be in these times of 'Money Madness' as 'Free' as possible and so no doubt when the organising platform has been set up, appeals for financial support in form of Patriotic donations will be made. Also I shall suggest that after the performance a collection be made as a charitable endeavour with sum collected given perhaps to local Care homes, the endeavour thus being one to also draw attention to those in care or other wise 'Aged' and needing help. To this end, I am sure such as Swansea Age Concern would agree to distribute the money raised.

What if does not take off, then I suggest that whilst musicians get the viewing station area on the Saturday, the viewing Station on the Sunday be given over to Poets and Story Tellers in place of any failiure in organisaing above CYMANFAOEDD GLYNDWR - DADLUOEDD 'STRYVELAND' upon Mynydd y Betws Sunday 10 June 2012. Now, do not sleep on it too long, get excited and ambitious and just close your eyes and see the above being performed - then dream about it until your 'Dream Begins To Come True'.

    Embassy Glyndwr Communication

Following on the great success of the 2004 Commemoration of 1404 in Machynlleth, made possible by a great contribution by many patriotic societies to work for common good plus of course much attending patriotic support.  It however, as not been continued as wished, in 2004 this was very much a Nationally Organised event and Nationally supported with national and local Machynlleth contributions. Since Embassy Glyndwr has worked successfully with Cefn Caer - 'Ty Glyndwr' and 'Ardd Glyndwr' to hold a small 'Coron Glyndwr' ceremony each year but neither the local community nor Canolfan Glyndwr or Town Council can grasp the huge benefits to the town if organised on a major scale as we have continuously proposed. The importance of the date 21 Mehefin 1404 and the historical signifigance to our Country in these times, is far more important than remembering 1282 as the 'big event' that Patriots must keep close to heart when their brains should be telling them that our beginnings are on the 21 June 1404.

There appears little ambition from direction of Machynlleth in organising a National Event to celebrate the greatest historic event in Welsh and that Town's history, disappointingly they would it seems as last year play up to the 'Puppet Parliament'. Generally, playing down the 'Nationalism' of our 'Dydd y Senedd' as a day of Sovereignty. Our Patriotic 'Dydd y Senedd' must first and foremost be celebrative of the setting up of SENEDD GLYNDWR one day to be restored in Machynlleth as the true Free Wales Government and not 'TY WAGG' of Cardiff Bay. Thus taking all such aboard, it is Embassy Glyndwr intention to take back this annual Gwyl Glyndwr and make of it a 'National', if you like very much a 'Nationalist' Festival. To this end there is to be organised a private meeting in Machynlleth on Sunday 27 May 2012 for representatives of all Patriotic Societies and groups also Individuals who can positively contribute to the relaunch of this National Initiative and help sustain it. Please note the intention is to establish a 'National 1404 Committee' that will there after be responsible for continuing to organise this 21 June midsummer event as an annual 'National Event'. Further, advancing concept of our 'Dydd y Senedd' as also 'Dydd Y Sofraniaeth', informing on the history of the events of 1404 and promoting the end purpose of restoring Senedd Glyndwr - Senedd Cenedl Cymru Rydd.

If wishing to attend this meeting contact Sian Ifan of Embassy Glyndwr.
