Photo Below: Just above this viewing area is the Road/Path Way Towards Waun Hir, my objective to see if it offered easy connecting up with Banc Cwmhelen Pathway 'A'. It didn't, so I turned off Road on to the Heathland towards Foel.

Towards TV Mast

Plenty of Ponies along this route (see Pony Post)

The Windmill Workings can be seen from start of the Roadway.

At this point I have passed the TV Mast and seen this Pathway does not connect up with Pathway 'A', so turn on to the Heathland towards Foel.

Opening up before me is a wonderful sight of vast open Heathland upon which the Renewables Robber Barons want to rise up their Industrialised Landscape.

At this point I am looking back in direction of Waun Hir also in same direction is Ty'n-Domen. to my right will be Foel but there is an huge gully in front of me in which is the source of Nant Garenig. Look at the Map and you will see a tributary dropping down into this gully, I reached this point and then turned back in direction of the TV Mast. Also at this point got boggy plus foto fatique setting in and took fewer fotos, will have to return sometime.

Trig Point ahead but ground direct towards is boggy, I make for Road/Pathway.

To my left, I see the Trig Point
.

Close Up View - See on hill top the remains of Penlle'r Gaer and in fore ground the Windmill Plantation Site under construction. To the right note the Trig Point, this I am sure apart from above on Penlle'r Gaer will be the best closer viewing point of the Windmill Plantation Site under construction.

However, I head for the Road/Pathway and take another photo of the Trig Point, but decide against making my way any further towards it. Getting late and Sun going down and I want to reach Penlle'r Gaer before darkness sets in. Amazing, depending on where photo is taken, the picture changes. At this point facing into the Sun it looks as if darkness is setting in fast but it's not as I do manage to get to Penlle'r Gaer and even though the Sun is low it shines direct on the Castle's remains. Photo below is taken passing by the TV mast.

NANT GARENIG - If Caeau Nant Garenig is an SSSI area, then why not the whole of Mynydd y Betws the same.

Getting Tired and Worn out and my  grazed knee is giving me gip! Younger Patriots are going to have to take over this TURBINE WATCH Soon, age also money, time and distance between me and this Protest Initiative area is prohibitive. This old Red Stag is almost ready for the knackers yard, come of it, I don't want to end up as dog food or glue, so press on Gethin!
